Moel y Gamelin walk

Park at Ponderosa Cafe, cross the road and head straight up the hill, with the old mines to your right.  You soon reach Moel y Faen / Llantyslillo Mountain.  On a clear day you can see Liverpool (and the Irish Sea) and Snowdonia.

Continue along the path which drops a little before climbing up to Moel y Gamelin.  The path then drops steeply and you’ll turn left at the bottom.

After a short while the route takes a poorly marked path to the left.  The OS map markings didn’t seem to match the ground here and I ended up stuck on a fairly steep hill, having to shimmy down on my bum, so be careful.

The route climbed back out of this valley and back to a well marked section near the road, Horseshoe Pass.  After a short walk on the quarry track I made my way back to Ponerosa cafe along the road.
